At Houston Methodist, the Sr. Director of Development for Corporate and Foundation Relations position is responsible for building a dedicated corporate and foundation relations team and directing the fundraising efforts for corporate and foundation philanthropic donors within the Houston Methodist System. The Sr. Director qualifies donor prospects and cultivates relationships with them or writes grant requests to philanthropically support the mission of Houston Methodist. The Sr. Director is also responsible for cultivating relationships with volunteer leaders, physicians, and key hospital leaders to support all Foundation capital and comprehensive campaigns.
The Sr. Director position responsibilities include ensuring quality, productivity, functional excellence and efficiency to accomplish strategic and operational objectives. In addition, this position is responsible for key metrics related to corporate and foundation relations philanthropic activity. This position will be responsible for building and leading a small team of fundraising professionals. In this area of responsibility, the Sr. Director is accountable for employee engagement, staffing decisions such as hiring and terminating employment, coaching and counseling employees on work related performance, and developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure a safe and effective work environment. This position also ensures training, monitoring and operations initiatives are implemented which secure compliance with ethical and legal business practices and accreditation/regulatory/government regulations.
