Overview

At Houston Methodist, the ERP Business Analyst position is responsible for analysis, functional documentation, support, development and advancement of PeopleSoft business applications through upgrades, new releases and optimization of implementations. This position utilizes critical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills to understand common business analysis tools and methodologies and to apply them to solve enterprise wide technical and operational problems. The ERP Business Analyst position partners with technical teams to define specifications for assigned projects and serves as a facilitator between technical teams and business owners.

  2. ServiceNow IT Service Management:
    • Hands-on experience handling Incidents, Requests, Changes, Problems, and Demands with ServiceNow IT service management
  3. Certifications:
    • ITIL certification is a plus.
    • Scrum Master certification is a plus.
  4. Technical Skills:
    • Basic experience with the following PeopleTools:
      • SQL
      • Application Designer
      • Application Engine
      • nVision
      • PeopleCode
  5. Preferred Experience:
    • Experience with third-party applications such as Stratajazz and Giftmap is a plus.

Responsibilities

PEOPLE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Partners with business owners to ensure projects and service requests are on time and within scope through the application of project management methodologies.
  • Initiates and maintains positive relationships with key customers and co-workers.
  • Partners with stakeholders to support and evaluate change management efforts on assigned solutions.


SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Utilizes strong communication skills through active collaboration with the customers. Provides proactive updates and alerts customers to potential issues.
  • Partners with customers and team members to translate business requirements into viable solutions, identifying potential benefits, and re-engineering workflow /processes to achieve anticipated benefits.
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships and effectively manages client expectations.


QUALITY/SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Proactively coordinates regular status sessions with key customers.
  • Develops detailed system test plans, executes system test cases and provides issue tracking and consolidation. Manages a coordinated User Acceptance Test (UAT) effort.
  • Participates in monitoring and meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with key customers.


FINANCE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinates, cost and resource estimates, and progress reports on assigned projects.
  • Identifies solutions to optimize performance of existing systems and gains customer consensus on instituting changes; institutes changes when approved.

  • Proactively seeks out opportunities and solutions that encourage innovation, continuous improvement and growth.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business or related field


WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Three years' experience in PeopleSoft Business Systems analysis, requirement gathering and documentation
  • Three years' experience in business process analysis, system requirements, data modeling and detailed functional design

License/Certification
