At Houston Methodist, the Director Information Technology Enterprise Business Applications position is responsible for directing the development, implementation and overall management of assigned application portfolios which includes corporate business systems, application development, web services, and robotic process automation. This role supports the entire organizational needs that includes Marketing, Human Resources, Supply Chain Management, Research Institute, Public Safety, and both hospital and physician organization operations. This role is responsible for strategic and operational initiatives and works closely with leadership in determining how technology might assist in addressing needs and supporting the organization’s key business objectives. Translates organizational needs into system requirements, design specifications and solution roadmaps. Serves as project owner for major business systems initiatives. Serves as a resource in evaluating policy and strategy for information technology.
The Director position responsibilities include overseeing the activities of the department staff, contract processing and negotiation, and ensuring quality, productivity, functional excellence and efficiency to accomplish strategic and operational objectives. In addition, this position is accountable for employee engagement, adequate staffing levels, budget development and compliance, staffing decisions such as hiring and terminating employment, coaching and counseling employees on work related performance, and developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure a safe and effective work environment. This position also ensures training, monitoring and operations initiatives are implemented which secure compliance with ethical and legal business practices and accreditation/regulatory/government regulations.
